Baroque Trend

Baroque - a characteristic of a style in art and architecture developed in Europe
from the early 17th to mid-18th century, emphasizing dramatic, often
strained effect and typified by bold, curving forms, elaborate
ornamentation, and overall balance of disparate parts.

The Baroque trend was seen all over the 2012 runway.
They are very detailed/ornate looks that really take time to create.
There are usually a lot of golds and other bold colors to create a dramatic effect.

Here are two looks created by Dolce & Gabbana.

Versace actually brought this Baroque trend back to life in the 1980's (see here) and
also created a more affordable Baroque inspired collection
to be featured at H&M in November of 2011.

Here are a few of my favorite ways to achieve this look...

This trend is definitely taste specific but I think it can be
really cute when muted down just a tad.
What do you think??
